Milton chiropractor discusses: Workplace ergonomics

1/18/2017

Here's another blog from a Milton chiropractor discussing: Workplace ergonomics.
If you're sitting at a desk most of your day, you need to ensure that your desk is set up properly to ensure the least amount of stress and strain is being placed on your body.

Here are some tips to make your work desk more comfortable:
  1. Sit with your hips to the back of your seat, and make sure your back is properly supported.
  2. Adjust your seat height so that your feet are flat on the floor (use a foot rest if necessary) and your knees should clear the front of the seat cushion.
  3. Adjust the armrest of your chair so that your arms are parallel to the keyboard and your hands and wrists are straight (use a wrist pad to aid in this and relieve stress and pressure on your wrists)
  4. You should be seated at least an arms length away from your monitor, and the top of the monitor should be 2-3" above your seated eye level
