According to a study published in the Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports in August, there is a specific exercise that was found to be very effective in the treatment of plantar fasciitis, resulting in a quicker reduction in pain. To complete this exercise, you stand with the affected leg on a step with your heel extending over the edge of the stair, and the unaffected leg hanging free. Slowly raise and lower the affected heel for a count of 3 seconds each, holding for 2 seconds at the top.
